Some free tools for your icon generation

Now and then you'd feel the urge to have your hands in designing new icons for a project or your very own personal computers. For some of us crafting icon using Photoshop is a tedious and time consuming effort until now.

ER Living Brand has narrowed down few icon creation software that would enable user to create, extract, edit and publish icon. Most of them runs natively on PC and Mac. The ones we have selected are either free or GPL license, ain't that nice!

Here are the short list:

icofx01IcoFX is an award winning freeware icon editor. It is an all-in-one solution for icon creation, extraction and editing. It is designed to work with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Macintosh icons supporting transparency.

ClockMaker Icon Generator

iconMakerThis icon application is incredibly simple in scope. Basically it takes your input and generates an icon in 4 different sizes either with an Adobe CS3 feel to it or a Web 2.0 badge feel to it. This is an Adobe AIR apps.
